Dr. David Chavarria

Dr. Chavarria is the oldest of 3 children born in Los Angeles, California. He is the first generation American Citizen born to his mother, Leda Chavarria who moved to the United States from Costa Rica, a small country in Central America with her family in 1965.

Dr. Chavarria was raised in Southern California until he went away to Indiana for College in 1995. At Goshen College in Indiana he studied Biology where he eventually graduated with a Bachelors in Biology in 1999, the first in his family. After College, Dr. Chavarria decided to go on and pursue a doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. In October of 2004 Dr. Chavarria graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, the original and first Chiropractic school in the world, and by many seen as one of the most prestigious schools in the country.

During his Chiropractic education Dr. Chavarria took part in a special abroad program where he went to Bolivia and served with a group of other students to treat over 3,000 patients with different conditions.

This experience helped Dr. Chavarria make the decision to go abroad again back to his family's home country of Costa Rica and open a clinic.

After a successful year in Costa Rica, Dr. Chavarria moved back to the United States to pursue training in Pain Management and Rehabilitation to better help people with chronic conditions where medication, injections and surgery failed. For this additional training Dr. Chavarria worked in an Occupational Medical Center in Muncy, Pennsylvania for almost 2 years.

During this time he worked with Physical Therapist, Medical Doctors and surgeons to better understand and treat difficult, chronic cases with a multi-specialty approach.

Dr. Chavarria saw so much value in the multi-specialty approach where multiple types of providers work in one location as a team to help a patient that when he relocated to Indianapolis to open his own practice, he made this his model.

In 2008 Dr. Chavarria partnered with family, Gerry and Martha Mekbel from Costa Rica to open GENESIS PAIN CENTER, P.C. A clinic that by name "Genesis" is modeled to help people change from perhaps a frustrated, hopeless, individual in pain and with nowhere to turn into a functional, healthier, and happier individual who can live with the highest quality of life possible.

Our scope as a practice is to handle the health of our patients, to create Lifestyle Changes, so they can better prevent disease and quickly cater to conditions they inevitably arise with the most appropriate, "cause based care "and treatment options available.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease. – Thomas Edison.
